On Michael Medved the other day, they had some expert about sexual harassment on.
There are definitely different gradations to this issue, from the "office pest" (per the show) who might tell an off-color joke or the type that might give a shoulder-rub to a woman (I have seen things like this and try to move on) to those doing really outrageous things as some of these men are accused of.
It's all wrong but we do need to recognize the differences, every case may not be a case to fire someone.
This is where it gets problematic. I am a professor, and I have seen colleagues over the years hug and put their arms around their female students, sometimes to the point of cringeworthiness. I never liked it. On the other hand, I dated and am married to a former student, so who am I to speak? These days I joke with my wife about the money she could have sued for had she decided to report all the shenanigans we were up to.
I do wonder how many of these complainants were flirting and giggling at the time the "harassment" occurred. I also wonder how many women will now intentionally lure men into "harassment" in pursuit of a big payday. Men can be suckers that way.
This whole #MeToo thing is going to be the trial lawyers' wet dream.
