Why am I cold when nobody else is?

As winter starts to grip the Northern hemisphere, it's time to wrap up. But not everyone perceives the cold the same way.
Gloves? Check. Hat? Check. Thermal layers? Check. But why am I the only one prepared for the onslaught of a snowstorm? The cold affects everyone differently.

With Halloween now firmly behind us, we find ourselves on the slippery slope into full-blown winter. While many of us may enjoy spending time outdoors on a crisp winter day, few people enjoy feeling cold.

Time was, I was always too warm or warm when everyone else was cold.  Now I seem to be perpetually cold.  I've even put on the furnace when the temperature is in the 50s.  And I have to set my thermostat higher than 70 degrees on really cold days -- sometimes up to 75.  Why?  Age, a wonky thyroid, medications, maybe all of the above.  Who knows?

Such is life.  Just have to deal with it.

Never used to bother me till I got ill... T-shirt weather was somewhere in the high 30's. Not anymore.
But I have to wonder if it is a result of the illness, and additional age, or if it is simply because I am not out in it, and the more I am not out in it, the less acclimatized I become... I remember duffers out riding the range - They could handle it as well as any. Maybe the thing to do is ride the range.

Well, 'm not allowed out when it's below 40 degrees (on orders from the cardiologist).  So no range riding for me.

The "experts" say it's going to be colder and snowier around here this winter.  Already, they are forecasting high teens for a low temperature Saturday morning.  Guess I'll be spending the next 4 months at home, indoors, with the furnace cranked up and a warm cat.
