Former President George W. Bush went off on his former vice president and defense secretary, stating bluntly that “they did not make one f****** decision.”

Bush made the inflammatory remark about his former colleagues in Mark K. Updegrove’s book The Last Republicans: Inside the Extraordinary Relationship Between George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush, which is scheduled to be released November 14.

The 43rd president pushed back against critics who claim he did not make major decisions during his presidency, and that former Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld made most of the important decisions in the White House.

Looks like the bedwetters on the left owes Cheney and Rumsfeld an apology.

So what is that, about 15 years late in setting the record straight?  Nice.

I can find it again, I read Bush 41 even blamed Cheney and Rumsfeld on some decisions per the liberation of Iraq.  So, where does this lead one?

Dunno where it'll lead others, but its leading me to reassess the pitifully few reasons I had left to respect the guy.

Not blaming one particular person, there is plenty of blame to go around or the blame game should not be played,

But the GOP really suffered a landmark defeat in 2008, not just for the presidency but in nationwide elections that resulted in the Democratic party being able to ram this menacing healthcare bill through the House and Senate.

These matters need to be addressed, the GOP could have suffered endlessly from what happened and never even get a look at the presidency.

Yes. I don't think he was bashing the others but stating that he, as POTUS, made the decisions.

It's in some book too.

Since we now know that Dubya seems to use some profanity,  it sounds possible this happened to me at least.

Name me one, just one President that did not use profanity, good Lord there is plenty of beef to chew on as far as GW's faults without littering the ground with cow patties.

Its Trumpbart.

Yep, in context it probably isn't as bad as the headline makes it sound. His comment could be construed as 'the buck stops here' because, no, they didn't have the final decision on the matters being discussed, the CIC did. Their job was to advise.

Getting your cheap shots in again? Why don't you go harass others for a change.

Check Reagan, Lincoln, Carter, etc. Real men don't need to use profanity.

@TomSea

They also don't label a simple, harmless statement "harassment."  There's no way @GtHawk's post could be considered as such.

You may want to check a bit of history. All of those presidents were known, at time, to have 'colorful' language. Modern media is just different and these things get out more easily now.

Cheap shots @TomSea, that's what you might call a crock, I have disagreed with you at times yes, but I have also given you praise for all the posts you make and the work you do researching them. If you can't deal with some light criticism for a cheap shot at GW you might want to get your big boy pants on...........just sayin.

I call BS.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

This past year has been one big ass unraveling party for Bushco.

Now it is time for them and subsequent offspring to fade off into the sunset.
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.
