GOP to delay release of tax bill
By Naomi Jagoda,Alexander Bolton and Scott Wong - 10/31/17 06:23 PM EDT

House Republicans rushing to finish a far-reaching tax cut package by Thanksgiving conceded late Tuesday that they would have to delay the release of their legislation by a day.

The GOP now says the bill will be released on Thursday as lawmakers scramble to reach a consensus on how to restructure the nation’s tax laws.

Fights over possible changes to the tax status of 401(k) retirement plans and the state and local taxes deduction are at the center of the delay.

I thought that Trump had stated that there would be no negative changes to 401k's. As for state taxes, I live in FL and pay -0-.

I'm going to guess this bill will be another POS like the numerous Obamacare "repeals."

In spite of numerous rumors recently concerning my trolling activity of late~I'm not trying to pee on anyone's parade here but I'm really skeptical of whether Ryan and McConnell will agree on anything that Conservatives are going to like therefore we are about to witness repeal/replace v2.0
I wish I could be more optimistic because America bigly needs comprehensive tax reform and Trump needs a win to finish his first year in office, everyone will be disappointed though and the blame will scatter like dust in the wind.

If it's released on a late Friday afternoon, 100% bet.
My 'Viking Hunter' High Adventure Alternate History Series is FREE, ALL 3 volumes, at most ebook retailers including Ibooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and more.

In Vol 2 the weapons come out in a winner take all war on two fronts.

Vol 3 opens with the rigged murder trial of the villain in a Viking Court under Viking law to set the stage for the hero's own murder trial.

How about acknowledging the fact that they don't work well together and exercise some leadership?  Present a clear plan and shame them into getting on the ball?  Of course, one would have to have a clear plan in order to do that.

Because the congress now is made up of a permanent and arguably a full-time political class that always has a procrastination mentality. Why do today what can wait until tomorrow, next month or even next term. I say the convention of states should return the congress to a part time legislature. Like many state legislatures, make them do everything in two 90 or 120 day sessions in each term of congress. Or special sessions of no longer than 30 days at the call of the president.  This may not be the best idea, but one that gets the professional political class out of congress.

Bobby, would you accept that excuse: "I can't do anything because the other guys won't go along with it anyway"?

Absolutely not. Elected representatives are expected to participate in productive discussions to form a consensus and vote to enact the best possible legislation. Politicians today only put forth a party favored response without studying the issues. Political parties, professional politicians, political posturing and procrastination are the root of congressional inaction. Something has to change constitutionally to effect this change. We can no longer expect the leadership in each of the houses of congress to do it on there own.

There isn't a single drop of reform in it and there won't ever be IMHO.

Perhaps this Congress is so obstinate that even the Best Business Negotiator in the history of real estate tycoons is unable to get them motivated, we are so screwed for the duration of the 115th.

We aren't just in trouble now. The consequences of their repeated failures will be a lack of support from voters in the future (count me among them). For me it's the lie that they would repeal obamacare. I'm sure for others it will be a screwed up tax reform bill that a handful of Pub Senators will sink. Also, there is a big group of voters looking for a wall to be built, deportation of criminals and a reform of immigration laws. The Pubs are destroying themselves.

The problem is the Rats will be even worse, but that being said I refuse to support liars and cheats. I had to adapt under the obama tyranny that destroyed my health insurance. I will adapt under the socialist tyranny to come.

I know you didn't ask me, but I will give you a response anyway.

I don't hold Pres. Trump responsible because he would have signed anything they put in front of him. No question Pres. Trump is inept at dealing with legislators, but if Sen. Cruz can put aside what he's had to put up with and work hard to push the agenda forward everyone should be able to do the same. Obviously not all Pubs see the bigger picture, instead they are letting petty dislikes and hate stand in their way. If they can't work for the greater good despite not liking who they are working with then they aren't worthy of my support.

Again, we know who and what they are; they were feckless ****s before the election when Trump was making his campaign promises that got people to vote for him.  Trump is now the president and the excuse that Congress is what they were when he promised to change things just flat doesn't work.

But, I appreciate your thoughtful response.

@bilo with all due respect, why bring Senator Cruz into your argument, IMHO he has already gone above and beyond the call of duty in this whole GD Fiasco of Trump's first year considering how he and his family were treated during the Primary, and NO @TomSea Cruz wasn't a part of that Rubio Opp group in Colorado (Naked Melania(beautiful by the way))  or Carson in Iowa (gonna go home to get a suit).
What more could/can Sen. Cruz and Lee be doing, Fox and Friends, more Twitter, with the integrity ping?

I must have missed your point because you always seem to have the World by the Balls.

Did not nor never will make excuses for anyone, especially Trump. I expect anyone elected, whether they got my vote or not, to act in accordance with the constitution, not their political agendas. They were elected to represent the whole of the constituencies, not their political affiliation. WORK to solve problems, not be against everything because it wasn’t proposed by their party. As the saying goes: either you are part of the solution or part of the problem.

Then maybe we agree: Trump isn't leading and Congress isn't leading or following.
