Donald J. Trump on June 4, 2016:
“I tell you what, Barack Obama has been a terrible president, but he’s been a tremendous divider. He has divided this country from rich and poor, black and white — he has divided this country like no president in my opinion, almost ever. The one thing I thought he could do is bring people together, and it turned out to be just the opposite. I will bring people together.”
I remember when many conservatives criticized (and rightfully so IMO) Obama for sowing division in the country, but now that their guy is doing it, it seems as though some of them are now all for division (despite Trump's promise to "bring people together"). Trump’s even dividing the very party he’s supposed to be leading. From the link in the OP:
“Overall, more Americans say Trump deserves “a lot” of blame for political dysfunction (51 percent) than either the Republican Party (38 percent) or the Democratic Party (32 percent).”
I just can’t see how a President with those kind of numbers on “political dysfunction” can possibly get reelected (especially one who only got 46.1% of the electorate in the first place).
