Trump thinks he owns Renoir, but Art Institute says real one hangs in Chicago

There are two versions of French impressionist Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s “Two Sisters (On The Terrace).”

One has hung in the Art Institute of Chicago since 1933.

The other is in President Donald Trump’s New York apartment.

But one of them is a fake — and the Art Institute says it isn’t the one in Chicago.

Trump, apparently, disagrees.

Trump biographer Tim O’Brien — who was raised in Chicago and knew the painting well — told Vanity Fair’s “Inside the Hive” podcast that he first challenged Trump over the authenticity of Trump’s “Renoir” years ago on the real estate mogul’s private jet, where it once hung.

I highly recommend Tim O'brien's biography on TRump. It came out about a decade ago but it's a very good read

Reminds me how it recently was found he had a bunch of fake magazine covers of himself all over his office. There is something just not right in his head.

In this case, he is either the victim of a counterfeiter or knowingly bought the fake (unless it was a licensed reproduction). As long as he didn't try to pass it off as real, he would be a the victim in this financially if he was conned into buying a counterfeit.

I too have a Renoir, a different one but It hangs in my downstairs powder room. It’s real, in a way, and it’s original, well original to me ; )

I thought the topic of this thread was a "Renoir" owned by Trump.  How did we get to NTs and personally insulting them?
