Might as well just give up on justice with that kind of an answer. So we can't ever know what happened?
58 people died, time to think a little about others besides ourselves.
I haven't given up on justice,(ultimately, I believe we all will have that, mitigated by the forgiveness of Our Saviour if we invoke it) I just don't trust the same Federal investigative agency that has failed to prosecute over Fast and Furious, Tens of thousands of illegal (prima facie) official eMails, shady Arms deals through Benghazi, Solyndra, to name a few, and yet continues to piss down the Russian Rabbit Hole.
Maybe they can get a video from the CIA showing how his
Corpus Callosum blew up in mid-Martini and sent him into a homicidal tailspin.
They have been right on top of every serious event, and I think some have been sting operations gone wrong. If they knew that this was the act of a Muslim Convert, for instance, would that information be released? Would that change if he guy had grown up a Wahhabist? How much Obama legacy is there in the agency that picks off women with sniper rifles and shoots old men with their hands up on the side of the road?
(In case you hadn't guessed, they have a long way to go before they ever restore credibility as an investigative or law enforcement agency with me.)
As for think about someone other than ourselves? Where did that come from Tom? About what?
The rest of us live with whatever grief or upset we have. The way to prevent the next incident does not exist. Someone will find a way to commit their particular mayhem, no matter what laws one passes (already laws against killing people, or just shooting them up), no matter what device someone bans (because there is always another way to skin a cat), but most of all, because some people jut don't give a rabid rat's patoot what the law says, for whatever reason or none at all.
That is why it is ever more important to not get knotted up in emotions and to not push any legislation in our grief. We have generations in perpetuity who will have to live with the results of any rash action. In that sense, waiting for the information to be sorted out and keeping a clear head IS thinking about someone other than ourselves.
(edited to remove remark that may have been considered callous).
