I'm absolutely correct regardless of who the president happens to be.

Pretty naive to believe that the President doesn't have a huge influence on legislation.

Do you know the difference betwee influence and control?  If not, there are a number of on line dictionarys that can help you sort it out.
"I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

Many Presidents have gotten legislation through Congress based largely on the strength of their ability to lead, persuade, and/or negotiate. They can’t control it but they sure as can influence it:  Bigly!

As much as I detest Obama, look what he was able to accomplish legislatively:  ObamaCare, a costly stimulus package, signed Dodd-Frank, bailed out the auto industry, won ratification of a new START Treaty, and expanded the CHIP program for kids.  He personally pushed for many of these legislative achievements and was personally involved in outlining, negotiating, and/or selling them.

Of course, I don’t expect Trump to do any of that for the equivalent legislation he wants.  He’s too busy fighting with the party he’s supposed to be leading and name-calling.
I adore facts and data and abhor lies and liars.

   Good point @Concerned

GWB got major Legislation done~NCLB in his first 6 months (with a late start due to the recount), then 9/11 derailed any vision he may have had for his Country.
Presidents can and do formulate policy and influence Legislation, at least that's the way it used to be.
No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

I think that is the funniest animated gif I have ever seen.  I'm pretty sure that is what Trump is doing to the republicans telling him to "please just stop"

Dadgumit, if you're going to post a comic, at least post one you didn't just post in the Political Graphics thread.   :tongue2:

I see we need to have a vocabularly lesson on what "our" means.  I guess you were an only child like me.

@RoosGirl I had a sister.....until I set her up for arson when we were kids. That was the last time she bent up my Slinky.

Anyone that puts a kink in a slinky deserves that and worse.

The only thing I like almost as much as making someone cry is making them beg.

Come on now, that is not at all what I meant.

Seems everyone’s an expert. They all want Donald Trump to stop doing what he’s been doing that successfully got him to the dance.

Where everyone else bows and curtsies and does the minuet, Trump does the Sabre Dance—and rather smartly, I might add.

That Madam is an insult. I certainly can afford it. I just need to know costs of things because as I stated earlier this week I need to convert cash to American Express travelers checks.
