IRLI sues the Homeland Security Department for records related to its relationship with the domestic terrorism-inspiring Southern Poverty Law Center

September 7, 2017

(Washington, D.C.) - On behalf of the Federation for American Immigration Reform, the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI) announced today it has filed a lawsuit (attached here) in the US District Court for the District of Columbia seeking records from the Department of Homeland Security regarding the agency's communications with the highly controversial and inflammatory "hate-watch" organization, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). According to IRLI's complaint, the agency has been unlawfully denying the release of the records.
