@XenaLee

Well if you're gonna take stuff out of context I'm gonna take my ball and go home.

Lol!   Don't do that.  We need your ball to continue the game.  Sheesh.

No government in the 12,000 years of modern mankind history has led its people into anything but the history books with a simple lesson, don't let this happen to you.

If the President continues on this current path, then we are all losers.  Regardless if we supported him in the primaries, or if we supported another candidate.  Yet, I see you are more interested in gloating about the hollow victory, than working together to push Trump in a direction that makes us all winners.

It is rather interesting.

An entirely predictable and forewarned Pyrrhic victory.

Actually not but the constant bloviating by the NTs gets tiresome.  As I've posted numerous times Trump was the better of two bad choices.   I'm damn glad Hillary isn't President and think its time to make lemonade.   We have a better chance of pushing back the progressive agenda with him than with Hillary or we ever had with Obama.

Sitting here doing nothing but bitching about how bad Trump is something that only losers do.   Its time to move on.  Yes he does some stupid things, he's also done some really good things.

True. My favorite phrase, 'waxing apoplectic', is so dang hard to work into conversation.

I like gesticulate: Trump die hard supporters are gesticulating wildly, in a failed effort to convince themselves that Trump has not veered from the platform that carried him to victory in 2016.

I remember a lot of Trump supporters here who admitted that the red-meat stump speech promises – The Wall that Mexico will pay for, Repeal & Replace Obamacare with something “beautiful”, and Kicking out all the illegals were not to be taken seriously. But they told us that they are supporting him among all the other candidates running because he runs a successful business that makes millions, and that he would run the country like his business.
Yea, that may be true, but Michael Jordon was the greatest basketball player that ever lived, yet when he joined Major League Baseball…..Well we all know how that turned out.

You hit on the real problem. "Populism" is the word people on the right use to disguise their own progressivism. They are the same thing. Both are all about the mob getting what the mob wants at any cost and pretty much always at the expense of the constitution.

After all, there would have been no progressive Woodrow Wilson if not for Progressive republican scum, Teddy Roosevelt.

I remember a saying from Rush... "Populism" is not a Conservative value.

Populism is just another form of socialism dressed up in a nationalistic and protectionist banner. It is a nationalist socialism instead of an internationalist socialism.

I remember a saying from Rush... "Populism" is not a Conservative value.

Populism, to me, smacks of majority rule/mob rule....and has been used by the radical left, mostly.... as they pretend to care about the average, hard-working Americans...even while passing legislation that mostly punishes those middle-income Americans (See:  Obamacare).  Not only not a Conservative value .... not a good idea for ANY nation (ie it reeks of a pure democracy).

If the radical left manages to get all those illegals (and the millions more that will pour in) that path to citizenship they seek.... the populist vote will elect Democrats ..... probably forever.

Trump had better NOT be planning on helping the radical left achieve that goal.

His actions speak louder than his words and the only thing he hears is the tinny oscillating reverberations of someone screaming MEE ME Me me me me Me ME MEE in his skull.

You probably won't take my post seriously, but I'm sincere---make lemonade with what, exactly?  I don't understand any of what you're saying here, or what you think can be done.

Move on from what?  Trump is what we have now and he isn't going to change.  So what does moving on consist of----changing our minds so that we get more in line with him?

Donald Trump doesn't care about what you or I think.  He'll go in whatever direction he thinks will bring him praise and positive media coverage.  That's just the way he is.  How do people on a message board affect that?  How can anything we post push him anywhere?

Why does criticizing a politician when he messes up make one a "loser?"  The alternative is to shut up and pretend everything's all right when it sure as hell isn't.

He knew what the will of the people was concerning Obamacare, and the wall, and defunding Planned Parenthood, etc.  Look how all of that turned out.  I see no reason to believe he'll change.

Given that 54% of the electorate didn't vote for him, if you're right,  the "opportunity" might just be greater for the liberals than for conservatives.
