  • Ah, the air is so much fresher here...
While I'm not exactly pumped about Trump working with Pelosi and Schumer, OTOH Ryan and McConnell have stubbornly foot-dragged in almost complete defiance against Trump to getting anything done. These are the same guys who are oh so conciliatory and bipartisan when they deal with Democrats.

So what are they going to do here? Trump has flipped the tables on them cut them out of the loop, and is now doing what they always champion. Are they just going to stand back and complain, obstruct, and keep dropping the plow just for the sake of opposing Trump, or are they going to start proposing things to counter the Dems and start moving legislation?
The Republic is lost.

I believe Ryan and McConnell saw themselves as quite clever, as they tried to cover both bases.

OTOH they could claim to be working to pass Trump's agenda items, which were solidly conservative.

But at the same time, they let it be known they would be fine if Trump failed.

Well as they say; "what goes around, comes around."
