Trump won't pardon 'Sheriff Joe' Arpaio at Arizona rally

President Trump will not pardon controversial former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio at a campaign rally Tuesday night in Arizona.

"There will be no discussion of that today at any point and no action will be taken on that front at any point today," White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters aboard Air Force One.

The former "Sheriff Joe" Arpaio, 85, was convicted last month of contempt of court regarding a 2011 order that he stop racial profiling in his efforts to combat illegal immigration. He is scheduled for sentencing in October, and faces a maximum of six months in jail.

I think Joe can count on being out of commission for a few months.

Subtracting his "good time" he should be out in about 3 and a half months.

I see Arpaio's prosecution as politically motivated persecution by the 0bama administration, and I think it appropriate that he be pardoned.

If it was acceptable for the last two demonrat presidents to pardon murdering terrorists it should certainly acceptable for Trump to pardon Arpaio.
