U.S. soldier killed in Afghanistan

The United States military said on Thursday that one of its soldiers died after suffering wounds a day earlier in eastern Afghanistan.
The soldier suffered the fatal injury during a joint operation between U.S. and Afghan forces.
There were also injuries among U.S. and Afghan forces during the operation against Islamic State militant group. The wounded personnel were evacuated for treatment, the military said in a statement.
