Move it where?
Anywhere away from a corrupted and apostate party.
The Republican Party today reminds me of several church institutions and congregations that began to water down their doctrines and beliefs. Their core foundations were discarded until they abandoned the scriptures and their core doctrines altogether in order to appease and attract the worldly into their membership. However, instead of transforming those who came into their fold, they were transformed by the world, and wholesale abandoned sound doctrine and scripture to embrace a 'larger view of social justice'.
They called it pragmatic in a changing time. The first thing Jesus warned the Disciples of in Matthew 24 is not to be deceived. II Timothy 3 discusses such a time. But deceived they became and they set out to deceive their own members.
Leadership and their supporters attempted to browbeat their old-time members into staying in their fold by asking them "where will you go?"
If that did not assuage the complaints, then via threats of hellfire and consignment into the void for disagreeing with the leadership and discussing leaving "the one true church". Sermons were given to mandate obedience to church government and unity, and those who were upset at the adoption of heresy were told to shut up or be disfellowshipped.
They became an apostate and heretical church altogether, no longer resembling what was once their core purpose and reason for being. The old-timers left, or were corrupted into abandoning their doctrinal faith for the new heretical teachings. But most left and went elsewhere, started home fellowships or new congregations. They are small, scattered but they are growing because their congregations are healthier and their brethren are united on core principles. There are a lot of them, and they are having a more direct impact on their communities than their former larger churches ever had.
Meanwhile, the churches they left behind, shrank and were abandoned by the very people and agendas they catered to. Most of them shut their doors altogether or folded themselves into Unitarian or other Social justice churches and the few who remain have attendances of less than 20 people each week.
Where will Conservatives go? Where must we move?
Away from an apostate party, lest your own core principles of limited government and Constitutional adherence is corrupted and you accept liberalism and ideas anathema to liberty as your standard.
