Sarah Palin, former governor of Alaska and Sen. John McCain's vice presidential running mate in the 2008 election, showed her support for the senator on social media Wednesday after he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

"John McCain is one tough fighter - we know he'll face this diagnosis with courage and strength. Our family continues to lift John and his family up in prayer," Palin posted alongside a photo of herself and McCain on Facebook.
