Would it be too much to ask that the actual shooter be blamed. Unless and until others are implicated in his plot there is no point at all in pointing fingers or playing the but Obama nonsense.
This is not the first time nor will it be the last that something like this happens. Blaming society, blaming certain aspects of media, etc. is intellectually dishonest.
Political assassinations are not unheard of in the USA.
That will make sense IF it is shown that the shooter is mentally deficient.
If the shooter is not mentally ill, it would make sense to follow the idea that if the shooter can be influenced into acts of violence by the specific groups that he associates with, then others that also associate with those groups will likewise be influenced to commit acts of violence. And these specific people should be acted on or monitored, as they are potential domestic terrorists.
Broad brushing who influenced the shooter, especially without proof, is intellectually dishonest.
Broad brushing that this is just another political assassination is intellectually dangerous.
