The New Puritanism
By David Solway May 28, 2017

One of the primary foci of the current cultural zeitgeist features the preoccupation, mounting to an obsession, with one or another form of sex, the more aberrant the better: The phobic obsession with rape, sympathetic coverage of re-assignment surgery and body modification, injunctions against deadnaming and heteronormativity, the emphasis on cisgender guilt, the sanctifying of gay marriage, the injustices of something called the “patriarchy,” the explosion of sexual harassment charges against media and political celebrities, the emphasis on sexualizing criminal justice proceedings in favor of women (aka gender disparity), and even legal bestiality. Moreover, the biological division between man and woman has been re-conceived as a “social construct” that must be unlearned, the product of a vast priapic conspiracy.

Liberals have to come up with new transgressions  all the time for several reasons.  Number one, liberals are perpertually trying to create victims to support the cause through donations or votes.  More victims, more power for Dem pols.
Secondly, liberals themselves like to think of themselves as perpetual victims of an awful, racist, sexist, etc. group of people (right-wingers) who have created this godawful nasty country where dark people like Oprah Winfrey are forced to live on several billion dollars.
You would think that after libs had won all the battles they'd be satisfied.  But being a liberal means always seeing the glass as half empty. Things are never good enough, never just enough, never fair enough. Somebody has to be blamed for the failure of many of the lib's pet groups to succeed.
Since there will always be people who disagree with the lunatic goals of the lib/progressive movement, i.e. conservatives, there will always be other people for libs to blame for their failures.
