I'm only gonna make one more post on this thread because people are scaring me.

Donald Trump has no deeply held belief against abortion.  He's held every stance in the book depending on what he was thinking at that particular time.

We cannot count on him to push through the anti-abortion program that we want or to defund Planned Parenthood.  He actually thinks PP does good things for the health of poor women.

That being said, Trump has held some pro-life and anti-abortion stances.  He has selected a strongly pro-life vice president and has appointed pro-life people in various offices and a pro-life Supreme Court justice.

I think he is open to being swayed to the right position on this issue if we put the pressure on.

I know we are 'forbidden' from bringing up Hillary 'what ifs', but if Hillary had won, we would not even be having this discussion.

She and everyone she knows (and her little dog too) are strongly pro-abortion rights.

With Trump, we at least have a chance.

Lol!  People are actually scaring you?   Here???  That's too funny.

And .... I'll bring up Hillary any damned time I feel the urge.  (always....lolol)  Never feel you have to walk around on eggshells just because of a few inept and incompetent (at their jobs) trolls.

@Emjay

Well said, at least we have a chance of pushing back with Trump.  If we had Hillary for 8 years they'd be doing abortions in middle schools by the end of her second term.

Seems to me I recall candidate Trump praising Planned Parenthood for all their good work.
Obtuse?  Or he knew then but as with the rest of his campaign, flip flopped on every issue.

Don't you get it @Rivergirl ??  Trump is a pro-life champion like no other before him, even though he loves Planned Parenthood........... the most evil institution in the history of America.

You just have to develop that special pro-Trump mental acuity that makes you see things not visible to the ignorant masses like you and me....   :tongue2:

So,  now, we are believing that those who speak on this issue and supposedly rebut what Pence says are so concerned about life? Maybe their concerns lie elsewhere.

@TomSea

I didn't even know we had such a section. That said, Just a few months ago the family (wife & older boys) volunteered yet again our time to serve  in the Sav-A-Life/Women's Care Center (annual sometimes bi-annual) fundraiser program. We are not rich folks so our time is usually our contribution. Cooking, serving, setting up chairs, and seating etc. My aunt is often the spokesman for the group locally. She had an abortion after her first two sons and tells her story of how it affected her life and the pain it brought her. We as a family also do other charity work, monthly volunteering time and food to serve at the local Bread-of-Life program where they feed those that assembly for a good meal three days a week. We also volunteer our services (church) to haul to local multi-church mission store anything people need carried for free to donate. Other things like Carpenters for Christ we have also done, and of course we do the local church building programs.

It is not much, but what do you do besides harp on those that don't worship Trump in any manner you can think of? Including griping they don't frequent pages that in your eyes prove their worth as caring humans. Most people understand that viewing a web page really proves little in the long run.

BTW.... the article you linked to, even though I had not visited it, I did recieve information about it via other means. I even downloaded the video (from the live leak source) to watch in full at my leisure. So even though I had not recieved the information via this web site, does NOT mean most of us don't get information via other means. I ask that you and other stop making views on TBR as a gauge to judge others you don't like. It simply is not an accurate way to judge things and is plain silly.

If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

You have read @goodwithagun 's actual credentials as a pro-life activist.

Do you actually believe that she's NOT pro-life because she doesn't read articles here?? (rhetorical.... no one with a functioning brain cell believes that).

I believe the single most vile lie ever told on this forum is that people who don't like Trump are pro-abortion.

And if I can get spiritual about it here, @TomSea ........ there is divine punishment for those who tell such disgusting, deliberate lies about Christians (or anyone else, for that matter).   You may get away with your garbage here, but you won't get away with it eternally.

I'd be careful if I were you.

You are telling deliberate, ugly falsehoods and maligning the character of people on this forum simply because they don't support the pro Planned Parenthood politician that you apparently love.

Be careful.......

Good point, @CatherineofAragon .

But my major issue with this particular control freak is that he posts vile, malicious, libelous lies like this....

Quote
The Cruz fanatics have sided with King Herod and the slaughter of innocents

And actually thinks he's morally superior to the pro-life people he despicably smears.

I'd love to ignore it, but he keeps saying things like this and I'm sick of it, and the fact that he seems to be getting away with it.

One of the main reasons I couldn't vote for Trump (other than his liberalism and total lack of character or honor) was his support of Planned Parenthood, and his cavalier attitude toward the murder of millions of unborn children.

The idea that my support for a truly pro-life candidate makes me comparable to King Herod is just hideous.

I don't usually apologize when I don't think I've done a thing out of line, but I guess I need to apologize for whatever I did here to call the Mods down on me.

(Not to be melodramatic, but I'm beginning to feel like I'm not wanted around here.....   )

Less than a week ago, I was specifically threatened by a different Mod 8 hours AFTER I apologized and left a little spat.  I took a self imposed time out to calm down because I didn't want to post when I was so angry at being treated like a child.  I am extremely self-disciplined, free to apologize, and have spent quite a bit of time defending the Mods for the great job they do.

I came back yesterday, made a few legitimate posts about not liking to be compared with King Herod and desiring the slaughter of children and am immediately told to shut up.

I get that there are problems here, but I am NOT the problem.  As I said, I apologize when I am in the wrong, but I don't feel the need to apologize when I am expressing legitimate thoughts on a legitimate subject after a heinous attack on the character of pro-lifers here on this forum.

Sorry.......... but one of the things I have most appreciated here is the freedom to express thoughtful, considered views without fear of reprisal.   And I'm not very good at being chastised when I haven't done anything out of line.  Never have been.

I may just take another time out.........

I'm well aware that Trump had a shallow understanding of Planned Parenthood.  He'd never really looked into it and believed the myth that it was an organization that helped poor women with health care.

And I don't believe he's passionately pro-life although I do think he's moved in that direction more recently.

But taking potshots at people who want to cut Trump a tiny sliver of slack is not helping your cause ... whatever that is.

Sometimes taking a time out is the answer.  I made the last post to you before I realized that you'd had your feelings hurt by the Mods and I'm sorry if I contributed to your malaise.

I've experienced the same thing.  I've been cautioned when it was obvious to everyone in the known universe that I was the good person in the discussion and that everyone else was mean and stupid.

And it does hurt.  I also took a time out... I think mine lasted 3 days.  I have a short attention span.

Anyway, the mods have a hard job and I try not to get mad at them.
