South Korea: North Korea missile test ends in failure

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff says that North Korea has attempted to launch a missile from an eastern coastal city, but the launch appeared to end in failure.

The statement Sunday said it wasn't clear what kind of missile was involved.

Thanks for keeping us up to date on this.

We had a lube 'n' go and the guy, really did look like John Candy there, I once asked him, "has anyone ever said you look like John Candy" and he said "all the time",  the business changed hands though, not long after that. John Candy was some great comedian. Missed still.

Well, this is all big news. I will have to see.

I was at the gym with all the tv screens last night and so, it's a good way to see what all of the networks are saying, CNN had some guest saying within a few years, North Korea will have 30(?) Nuclear weapons, maybe more. Alarming. It does look like something has to be done.

It's 9 AM in Seoul now.... so, this must have been an early launch in NK. This is indeed curious and very frustrating.

This is going to piss off North Korea big guy.  He will do something soon to regain "face".

I don't like Pence going to South Korea right now - he will land there in a few hours.  And, he took his wife.  I think that is a huge mistake - if something happened to both of them, their kids would have no parent.  Sending Pence to that region right now is just wrong.

I would have to dissagree with you on the Pence visit. What kind of message does it send the troops he's visiting that its too dàngerous for the a VP visit. Bush dropped in on more dàngerous places.

There is no reason he had to be there at this time and it was highly publicized he was going.  That was a mistake, too.  We never knew when Bush visited troops until he was already there or after he had been there.  We do not have safe places in South Korea and there is a maniac in North Korea who hates our guts.  He would kill Pence in a minute if he could.  And, you don't send Pence's wife there, too.   I pray they both get out of there.

Those are good points.

In a way, Pence going shows it might be safe to go there.

You come up with a very good angle and it is worth considering, actually, I had a bit of a gut reaction like yours as well but I just decided, they probably know what they are doing.

Pence's trip was scheduled weeks ago.  Cancelling it would be wrong as wrong gets.

Bush flew secretly into hot zones. Korea is not that.

I suspect that a lot of the control of the military is in the hands of China even if they humor Lil Kim into thinking he has real control.

Drudge has been alarmist on this issue, Friday night even, they had up for the shortest time, that a projectile had been launched, I guess that was the "wrong headline" that was in the news reported by China earlier.  Despite, in my view, Drudge being too urgent, threats like this still are not to dismiss totally.  I trust our intelligence and military in this case.
