LGBT Group: National Concealed Carry ‘Reciprocity is an Atrocity’

An LGBT rights group known as “Gays Against Guns” released an ad campaign Thursday targeting the national concealed carry reciprocity bill making its way through Congress.

Titled “Reciprocity is an Atrocity,” the ad warns its viewers that H.R. 38 and S. 446 — which allow concealed carry nationwide — will “overturn your state’s gun laws.” The bills will also allow “guns to travel freely across state lines,” permitting someone to “buy a gun in Texas and bring it to a school in New York.”

The ad ends with a series of protesters holding signs that read “Not in my City” and “Not in my Nightclub,” among other locations. People in white clothes stand in the background, representing those who have been killed in gun-related incidents.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 unifies the patchwork of concealed carry laws across the nation. Under this legislation, if a person is allowed to carry a concealed firearm in his or her state of residence, that person is also permitted to carry a firearm in another state that allows individuals to carry concealed firearms.

I would say that the LGTB crowd is outnumbered by far.

"Drawing on information from four recent national and two state-level population-based surveys, the analyses suggest that there are more than 8 million adults in the US who are lesbian, gay, or bisexual, comprising 3.5% of the adult population."

- 6.06% of the total adult population has a permit.

Two weeks ago, (article written 9/8/2016) the PEW Research Center released a survey showing that gun ownership by households is up to 44% — a 7-percentage point increase in the past two years. Another 5% of households won’t reveal whether they own a gun.

These gun grabbing idiots seem oblivious to the fact that one patron inside that gay bar that got shot up in Florida could have stopped that tragedy before it got as bad as it did.

Then on the flip side we have a group called the 'Pink Pistols'.  So it would seem that gays and guns do come together and their membership is around 6,500.  Ready for this one?  Their motto is:  "Pick on someone your own caliber."!

Or buy that gun in Texas and take it home to New York, where it's simply a means of protecting one's family and providing  some peace of mind.

None of the three states I have lived in allow weapons inside of bars, do you know of any that do?

I was pretty sure my state did not prohibit it, and according to txradioguy's link, I was right!  I pretty much carry wherever and whenever I want except where there's a metal detector at the door, like the courthouse.

That's a pretty good slogan, actually.  Dana Loesch has mentioned this group before, and I think she interviewed the founder a while back.  If someone had been packing when that Muslim shot up the Orlando club, maybe he would have been taken out before so many people died.

Why isn't this a state's rights/local rights issue?   What's wrong with each locality deciding whether one can walk around on the streets like it's Dodge City?
