There is no sign of single payer and doubt it could happen until at least 2020.
It will happen virtually overnight once the outcries of rage reach deafening levels when the last major Insurance Providers in the exchanges pull out over massive hemorrhaging of profits to cover all the mandates they must cover. Dumping everyone into Medicaid and Medicare will be the only thing that the GOP and Trump will look at in terms of a stop-gap.
Then, this is not even beginning to discuss the insolvency and debt Medicaid and medicare have already racked up as everyone has been shoved on over into those pools to provide subsidized taxpayer-funded coverage.
Again, no need to be so cynical. Even if the block grant pathway happens, that could be the gateway to isolating high 'risk pools' , eliminating most and eventually all taxes and killing subsidies etc.
Fantasy pipe-dream. Name for me one government program that has ever killed it's subsidies. One. It's why I remain cynical, as any real Conservative should be regarding ANY program the Federal Beast has control of that interferes and issues mandates about how we live our lives. I think anyone attempting to massage, justify or provide suggestions to 'fix' ObamaCare are useful idiots at best for the Marxists who have dreamed of nationalized healthcare for over a century.
There is no 'fixing' the ACA. It was designed for one purpose only - and it was not to provide health insurance or better healthcare.
Also, the Republicans need to educate on the funding gap with more years of taxes having been collected versus benefits.
Yeah... that'll happen
. I'm still waiting for the GOP to educate the people about the fact we are not a Democracy.
