Funny how that works. The charge was he was defending pedophilia, not that he was one. And that is directly from his own mouth.

Uncut video (NSFW) -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJhHwspZGcg&app=desktop

I suspect that if you had asked Dennis Hastert if he was a pedophile before he got caught, he would have said no.

Milo just stated he is not a pedophile.

If you want a pedophile, check out Republican Dennis Hastert. You remember him? Former GOP Speaker of the House, before Boner and Ryan.

@truth-seeker

Have you watched the video?  If you haven't, you can't make a judgment call.  If you have, I'm at a loss to understand why you would defend Yiannopolous.  I mean, are you ignoring the evidence of your eyes and ears?

Whether he's a pedophile or not, he personally defended it over and over.  He said that older men/young boy relationships are incredibly enriching and life-affirming.

How's it even possible to defend this?

Seems almost every year, CPAC goes through this 'exercise' of dealing with critics over the choice of Keynote speaker.

They did it Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter, IIRC.

Keynote speaker my ^$% and he hasn't been made keynote speaker yet and comparing him to Rush? Really?

Then he lied because he said he was one of the keynote speakers last night.

Gateway Pundit attacks Nevertrumpers for releasing "sordid" tape.

Well, yes, it IS sordid.  Blame the clickbait whore whose words make it that.

Again, TOS has links to the Milo apologetics threads while not allowing the original video to be posted, thereby depriving its members of the point of reference.

American Conservative Union Chairman Matt Schlapp announced Monday that Breitbart.com senior editor Milo Yiannopoulos’s invitation to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference has been rescinded.

“Due to the revelation of an offensive video in the past 24 hours condoning pedophilia, the American Conservative Union has decided to rescind the invitation of Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference,” Schlapp said in a statement on Twitter.....

All of them were already booked.

Milo was never established as the keynote speaker per PJ Media.

Perhaps Cruz can talk about how he defended the Obama stimulus.

So what does it say for CPAC for even considering him?

I've seen him on TV several times.  He's made a name for himself mostly by being prevented from speaking by a nutty mob.

Who says mobs never do any good?  Not Milo.  He's definitely a self=created personality but I didn't realize he had such a dark side.

His dark side was never a secret. At that, the rise and acceptance of Milo in this new weird 'right' has been red flag for some of us for a long time. And it isn't because he is gay. He has always been a vile troll. He never had any real belief foundation other than to get as much attention as possible. A while back, he described everything he has been doing as just a 'performance art'. He chose the Right this time because he saw an opening.

Hell, there is a lot worse out there on him from before this latest political cycle. Looking up some of the info on Gamergate last night during a discussion,  I found old references (2014) to him being a pretty vile anti-Semite/holocaust denier (probably just another character he was playing to push buttons). Again, these were before this political cycle, not when he was the darling of the right, so this wasn't new.

Friendly word to the Mods, it appears there are about 6 threads including this one on this Milo character in the politics area alone; maybe he deserves all that space but if he doesn't, perhaps some threads should be merged.

I see your point but I have to say that I've learned something from these threads. If CPAC has uninvited Milo then it looks like that was the right thing to do. Unless there's more to the saga.
