WH releases list of terror attacks, says most didn't receive media attention they deserved

The White House released a list of terrorist attacks on the West Monday evening, after President Trump made an unsupported claim earlier in the day that terrorist acts in Europe were not being reported by the press.

“All over Europe it’s happening. It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported,” the president said in a speech at Central Command headquarters in Florida. “And in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it. They have their reasons, and you understand that.”

On Air Force One, Trump spokesman Sean Spicer told reporters that Mr. Trump did not really mean that terrorist attacks received no coverage. The president’s actual complaint, he said, was that such acts don’t get enough attention.

“He felt that members of media don’t always cover some of those events to the extent that other events might get covered,” Spicer said. “Like a protest gets blown out of the water, and yet an attack or a foiled attack doesn’t necessarily get the same coverage.”

Trump: ‘The Very, Very Dishonest Press Doesn’t Want to Report’ on Threat from Radical Islam

(CNSNews.com) – In a speech to U.S. troops at MacDill Air Force Base near Tampa Bay, Fla., President Donald Trump said Monday that the “dishonest” media doesn’t want to report on the threats from radical Islamic terrorists who are determined to strike the homeland.

“Radical Islamic terrorists are determined to strike our homeland as they did on 9/11, as they did from Boston to Orlando to San Bernardino and all across Europe. You’ve seen what happened in Paris and Nice. All over Europe, it’s happening. It’s gotten to a point where it’s not even being reported, and in many cases the very, very dishonest press doesn’t want to report it,” Trump said.

The White House released a list Monday night of the terror attacks it believes were underreported by the media.

CNN’s Jim Acosta said his producer was given the list of the 78 attacks outside of the White House. Though he did not read the list in full on air, Acosta said it included attacks like Paris, Brussels, Nice, Istanbul and San Bernardino.
