Trump team considers evicting press from White House: report
By Rebecca Savransky - 01/15/17 08:20 AM EST

President-elect Donald Trump's team is reportedly considering evicting the press corps from the White House.

Instead, the press corps may work out of the White House Conference Center, near Lafayette Square, or in the Old Executive Office Building, next door to the White House, Esquire reported.

"There has been no decision," said Sean Spicer, Trump's incoming White House press secretary, adding "there has been some discussion about how to do it."

If true...it would be a really stupid move among the many mistakes made in the run up to the inauguration already.

It's really really stupid to pick a fight with the media.

I think it's a good idea - but not for reasons of pettiness.

Trump has already been told that a large chunk of the White House' communications desperately needs upgrading. It was thought he'd have to work from the Executive Office building for a couple years.
Yet the WH press rooms have completely up to date communications sitting right there ....

When it comes down to it, I want the president working from as secure a location as possible. The press can commute.

Perhaps not eliminate the press from the White House entirely, but allow certain journalist to attend press conferences by invitation only as determined by Trump's press secretary.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

White House Historical Association
Martha Joynt Kumar

Since Woodrow Wilson held the first presidential press conference in March 1913, all sixteen of his successors have used the sessions as a basic part of their publicity strategies. The sessions have survived because reporters found them useful for developing information, citizens saw them as valuable for making judgments about their chief executives, and presidents and their staffs saw them as a primary strategy for explaining their policies. Presidents could give speeches laying out their policies, but press conferences became a major way to explain the intricacies of those policies as the proposals made their way through the legislative process.

Pick a fight, seems he has been the hated one ever since he secured the nomination.

He made himself that way. Like people who goad others into reacting certain ways during a debate then hitting the alert button...Trump created his own victim hood and rode that card to the nomination.
