A fit sentence, but an evil crazy person serving as his own attorney is a setup for a retrial.

An admitted white supremacist was sentenced to death Tuesday for massacring nine black worshipers who'd invited him to study the Bible with them at a Charleston, S.C., church, ending a two-phase federal trial that exposed the killer's hate-fueled motives and plumbed the chasms of grief left by the victims' deaths.

The jury, the same that convicted Dylann Roof in the murders last month, announced its verdict after deliberating less than three hours.

The state can move pretty fast when it wants to - it zapped Tim McVey within 6 years. Somehow I think they'll be keen to expedite this one.

I think they killed Tim to keep him from talking.   Every other case takes forever.  He deserves to hang tomorrow.

McVey's execution happened so quickly because he told his lawyers to stop all their motions of appeal. He said he wanted to die.

Better than at the state level.  If he had been tried in state court in PA, for example, he could live to old age.  PA has the death penalty, but hardly ever uses it.  Plus the Dem governor ordered a moratorium on executions to "study" these sentences to see if they are applied unfairly to one race over another.

Guess which race.

McVeigh hastened his own exit by withdrawing his appeals.

Otherwise, he might still be alive today.

Given Roof's behavior so far in this trial, it wouldn't be surprising to see if he does the same.
