Thou shalt not kill.
Whenever this conversation comes up I am astounded that people don't get we are killing human beings and selling their body parts. They can even be new parents and not able to grasp that we are killing fully formed human beings with heart beats, and a brain. A child that will feel the unimaginable pain of either being ripped apart of poisoned in the womb. A child in the womb who has never done anything to deserve this cruel justice of the abortionist.
I was drawn into a conversation the other night. It was about Government and religion. Abortion came up and I said it was murder. The conversation was quickly shut down but I was left lingering with the knowledge that a young man with a new baby still has no value for infant life. It bothered me. These are some of the thoughts that went through my mind and I wanted to tell him but he had already declared the conversation over:
Thou shalt not murder is a commandment from God but it is also United States Law.
[Murder (United States law) ... In most cases there is a hierarchy of acts, known collectively as homicide, of which first degree murder or felony murder is the most serious, followed by murder, followed by manslaughter which is less serious, and ending finally in justifiable homicide, which is not a crime at all.]
What possible reasoning other than this baby is not wanted is there for abortion? I thought to myself we are killing these children that are American citizens in the womb because we don't want them. We have declared that it is OK to kill if someone does not have a welcoming home.
Then I thought about the homeless. What if we decided to kill the homeless because they didn't have a home? Because they are rejected and have no one to care for them? It would never happen. Somehow we value a human being only because they have entered the world via woman's womb.
Then there is the court cases women who have been killed that are pregnant. I believe that it has been determined in court that it is a double homicide if a child is killed in the womb when the mother is murdered. I could be wrong. But the difference. The mother wanted the child. It had a family. A home.
To me although God said it we as human beings should value human life. And when a couple has a pregnancy and follows the child from conception. Feeling the kicking. Seeing the ultrasound and learning about how their child is developing over the months. Bonding with the baby and knowing with all certainty that your child is developing a relationship with you right from the womb. That you wouldn't want to harm your child in any way. Yet it is OK for someone else to murder their own child simply because they don't want them.
