A U.S. service member died from wounds sustained in an explosion, officials announced Thursday.
The soldier was fighting ISIS in northern Syria, according to a news release from U.S. Central Command.
The soldier sustained wounds from an improved explosive device blast near Ayn Issa, which is around 35 miles north of Raqqa.
