Top aide: Trump won’t pursue Clinton investigation

President-elect Donald Trump will not follow through on his campaign pledge to pursue an investigation into Hillary Clinton, one of his aides told MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
 
"I think when the President-elect, who's also the head of your party, tells you before he's even inaugurated that he doesn't wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone, and content" to other Republicans, former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday.
 
"I think Hillary Clinton still has to face the fact that a majority of Americans don't find her to be honest or trustworthy," she added. "But if Donald Trump can help her heal then perhaps that's a good thing."

Don't recognize many names on that thread.  I guess there have been a lot of changes in only a few months.

Seems they are hanging  their hat on the fact that the FBI is still investigating the Clinton Foundation and that the DOJ will then prosecute.  Some are talking about what a brilliant move this is.

What I read and hear in that statement is that Trump has no interest in prosecuting the criminal  activities of anyone named Clinton in order to allow the country to "heal".  I believe I've seen that very scenario predicted by a number of posters on TBR (all of whom should now stand up and take a bow). 

What I also hear is that voters should not expect the same things from a President or a President-Elect as they were expecting from the candidate.  Am I wrong?

I thought it was a stupid and boastful remark on Trump's part during the 2nd debate when he said, “Because you’d be in jail,.  Red meat for his followers and nothing more.  Not surprised he is backing away from it, as he will from many of his boastful campaign promises.
