Trump to meet with Christie on Sunday

By Brent Griffiths

11/19/16 11:55 AM EST

President-elect Donald Trump will meet with Chris Christie on Sunday, an indication of how Trump is maintaining ties to the New Jersey governor despite removing him as the head of his transition team.

Earlier this year, Trump tapped Christie, a longtime friend and fellow Republican primary contender, to lead the massive task of preparing for the White House.

But as Politico reported, Trump lost confidence in Christie after two of his former allies were convicted in the Bridgegate scandal and as concerns mounted that he was mismanaging the transition process.

Since then Vice President-elect Mike Pence has taken over planning for the next administration, and many allies of the governor have been purged out of the team.

Other meetings on the President-elect’s schedule for this weekend include:

· Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a strong critic of Trump during the primary
· Michelle Rhee,
· Betsy DeVos,
· Todd Ricketts,
· Bob Woodson
· Lew Eisenberg
· Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong
· John Gray
· Kris Kobach
· Wilbur Ross
· Chris Christie
· Rudy Giuliani
· Robert Johnson
· David McCormick

What does anybody think of Chris Christie taking over the Department of Homeland Security?

Personally, I'd love to see Mitt Romney be set up in a new position of DISMANTLING the DHS, and the Education Department (ED).

His specialty was closing down non-profitable companies and making them more efficient and 'profitable'.   "Profitable" doesn't always have to mean dollars and cents in this case.

Christie seems more of the prosecutor-type.

Christie could be Secretary of Health and Human Services.

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Christie, Hillary, seem to be different people away from the cameras and behind closed doors, with Trump, it seems he's the same anywhere.

Enormous personal wealth makes that simple.
