I have fibromyalgia, diagnosed by a neurologist some years ago.  I take special meds for this.  Most of the time I am okay.  HOWEVER, this morning my left upper back muscles went into spasm and I am stuck on the couch, lying down with head propped up in front of TV, with my little Chrome notebook computer, and not able to move due to the excruciating pain if I move.  I am on hydrocodone pain pills I have when this happens, plus using heating pad and I also drank a large glass of wine to help things along.

I say that to say this:  I'm sure I will be totally fine if Trump loses tomorrow.  I think my muscles are screwed from thinking he may win. All of you know i think he is a great danger to the country, more so than Clinton, as bad as she is.

Since I am a captive in front of TV, I see Trump moving all over the country promising a chicken in every pot and railing at the dishonest press, and Obama giving a speech for Clinton and he is really good at it.

Trump could win this by a large margin or Clinton could win by less.  I just can't believe polls that have her up to over 300 electors.  In presidential campaigns before this one, Republicans would vote Republican - those of us who worked in the party knew for sure we could count on those votes and we were after the independents who made the difference as to who won.  Well, that was before now - this time I don't know who Republicans are voting for, nor do I have a clue about independents.

Those of you who are not stuck on the couch, enjoy your body being able to move.  I see more pain pills and wine in my immediate future.  I hope I can move tomorrow, election day.  If not, I'll be on the election day live thread here every minute of the day. OMG,  you nailed that exactly right.   I first voted for Ronald Reagan in 1980,   and then again gleefully in 1984.   In 1988,  I voted for George HW Bush whom I thought shared my values,   but who quickly demonstrated "not really."   


HW again, in 1992,   Dole in 1996,   W in 2000,   W again in 2004,   McCain in 2008,   Romney (ugh)  in 2012,   and now I have to vote for Trump.     


Every single one of them since 1984 has been a compromise.   How about you old Normy old pal?   You vote for any of those guys since 1984?

As a conservative, I've voted for the candidate who has come closest to my principles in every election since 1972.

Previously, I believed the only choices were either R or D.  I now no longer believe that.

The reason I don't is that the R candidate doesn't believe in a single value I believe in.  That, for me, makes it impossible for me to vote for him.

This has never happened to me before, since every previous candidate has at least had several issues on which I could support him.

No more.  There is nothing Trump really believes or thinks that any conservative believes or thinks.

Some of you will vote for him because you believe it's a binary choice, and I personally respect that choice.

I just can't make it.

Right now I'm between Castle and McMullin and will make my final choice tomorrow.

We've had some primary candidates, but no general election candidates since 1984. Trump is a bridge too far for me to put my name on. We're in for a rough 4 years - at least - no matter who of the two are elected. Our real problem is too much big government ever expanding into every facet of our lives. Neither candidate will shrink government. They both think the problem is it led by incompetents and with their brilliance they'll make things better again missing the fundamental flaw at the premise. Neither talk about putting the genie back in the bottle, constraining it to constitutional limits. The fact that we find ourselves in this position only shows how screwed up the general populace is and that there is little hope in the future as we swirl around the bowl of decline.

What really makes me angry is it didn't have to be this way.
