Pope Francis still has a lot of work to do on a range of moral issues despite encouraging comments from the Catholic Church head, leaders of Sweden's Lutherans say ahead of his visit to the country.


"It is clear that he has said and done things that have ignited much hope among many Catholics and even many people outside the Catholic Church," Sweden's first female Lutheran Archbishop, Antje Jackelén, told AFP.

Just a curiosity thing here.  Does she think male Nuns would be acceptable.  How about transgender women/men as Nuns?  Which of the 53 NY genders would be acceptable for the Priesthood and which for being a Nun?  I'm not making a joke here.  These are issues the church at some point will face.

If a person wants to worship in a religion with Female clergy, they should go join a religion that meets your standards, and if you are a member of a religion that allows women clergy worry about your own damn church and butt out of the tenets of someone else's religion. Demanding that others change to meet your standards? That's so....so........liberal entitlement thinking.

There are "male nuns" in the Catholic Church.  They're called "brothers."

The Catholic Church should admit married men to the priesthood and worry about women priests much, much later.

My best guess is because being shut out from the position of Pope,it interferes with her desire to be the Queen of the Universe.

I wouldn't worry about that very much if I were you. The Catholic Church not only doesn't come under the control of the US Government,it is a government itself,with it's own Ambassadors. Nobody can make them do a damn thing they don't want to do.

Of course,with the Fruit Loops they have for a Pope now,he might just decide to do it on his own.

No,I'm a heathen,but we still have Free Speech in this country,and I will comment about the homo in Rome anytime I want. He's no different than any other foreign leader. He seeks in influence American politics to benefit Rome.

Francis doesn't "seek to influence American politics".   He obviously doesn't like Trump, but he's got millions and millions of people for company on that one.

Of course he does. Convincing  other countries to give the Catholic Church more influence,tax breaks,etc,etc,etc is a large part of his job.
