It was a draw.  I doubt it changed anyone's mind.  Our divided country hears these things completely differently.  We are all speaking a different political language, therefore we hear these things very differently.  Very few can put themselves in the other ideological shoe and judge what was said from a broad perspective beyond their own.

I think Centrists were put off by Kaine, and with Hillary's health issues,   he might scare them off a lot more than normally a VP candidate would.

I just spent 90 minutes trying to swat a moth off my TV screen only to realize it was Tim Kaine's eyebrow.

Kaine would only be a heartbeat away if Hillary wins.   That should give even the most diehard NeverTrumpers pause.

I can't think of a thing that would cause me to cast a vote for Donald Trump.

We will know in a month.  My guess is, if they don't like Kaine's manner, they REALLY don't like Trump's.   I can guess what liberals are thinking better than I can guess about the mushy middle.  So it is hard to say.

I guess I look at it more as, at least the Republican ticket is batting .500.

Well based on not seeing the debate tonight and reading four or five posts here on this thread it is clear to me that I have to vote Trump this year. It's all crystal clear to me now.

That's interesting.  I thing there are a lot of people who look at it that way -- well before tonight.  For me it is nowhere near enough.  I don't even really like Pence.  Trump I cannot stand.  The other two are hideous.  I'll stick with "Never" to both those teams.

Unfortunately one of those teams is going to win.

BTW, I do not think Kaine comes even close to Trump in that regard.  He might have the potential.  I don't know.  He hasn't had the opportunity.  So one zinger filled debate will not bring him up to Trump's vile and slanderous level.

I don't think anyone in the political arena can surpass Trump's bullyism. He'll probably hold that record for a long, long time. Even so, Kaine's coming across as such a bully is something the left can't ignore if they're going to fuss (rightfully) about Trump's bullying.

You keep pushing that line, but it doesn't fit what people are saying from all over the field.  Even many lefties are admitting Pence won, and independents certainly are.

Exactly.  So why waste out time being mad at each other.  Do what you have to do.   It will be what it will be and neither of us can stop it.

Fair enough.  I just cannot stand the thought of Hillary in the White House.   I won't argue about Trump,  but I just hold out hope that maybe, he will do some good things.   But I've always said, he's more of a Hail Mary Pass, than anything, but at least there's a chance of it working.

I do see that some leftists think Pence won on style and delivery.  Okay.  It's not the first time I disagreed with them.  I'm not trying to be popular.  I'm giving my own personal perception.

Come on. I just made the rounds and caught some highlights. Pence looked pretty good and gave a great punch in the face to that professional loser Timmy...

"Senator, that was even beneath you and Hillary Clinton, and that's pretty low."

I understand and respect your decision.  I just feel differently about it.  I can't own even a small part of the Trump disaster.  He may win.  She may win.  I wash my hands of all of it.

Pence had the right demeanor. He appeared patient, yet firm. He also made great use of the camera - he looked directly at it when he wanted to stress certain points, and he knows how to reach his audience. Kaine looked visibly frustrated at times, while Pence seemed more collected.

Something is also wrong with Tim Kaine's face. Is it botox or plastic surgery like Creepy Uncle Joe Biden?

You know, I have pooh-poohed the theory that Trump is running for POTUS and then behaving the way he does in order to ensure that Hildebeast wins the presidency. I'm starting to rethink my resistance to that theory.

Yep.  And the consequences are terrible either way.  Blame the Republican primary voters.  This was over when the primary ended.

Well it's not as if any of the other candidates were worth writing home about.
