  • I was a "conspiracy theorist". Now I'm just right.
Same here.  If Trump and his minions think Ted Cruz's endorsement will bring in our votes, they are very much mistaken.
Yep. I'm still all for a return to original intent.

Talk to me after Trump loses. Then we can discuss irrelevance.

They sure are desperate to get us irrelevant people on board with their assured historic landslide win.

Personally I think its about shared guilt.

They know Trump is a betrayal of everything they've ever claimed to believe in and can't stand the idea that we'll be a reminder that they're the useful idiots who did it to themselves.

If he loses, they own it. If he 'wins', they will own that, too. Sucks to be them.

I was born and raised in the PA Dutch culture.  We were called "stubborn Dutchmen" (or "dumb Dutchmen" by the less polite) for a reason.  A common saying/principle/belief among us was: "I've made up my mind; the discussion is done.  Your only options are to accept that or to kill me--you won't change my mind."  I have decided not to vote for either Clinton or Trump and no action by anyone else, no matter how well-thought-of, has any bearing on that.  The discussion is done.
My political philosophy:

1) I'm not bothering anybody.
2) It's none of your business.
3) Leave me alone!

You completely miss the point, sir.

The ONLY goal is to keep the White House out of the Left's hands.  Out of Hillary's hands.  Eight years was more than enough of this sh*t.

I have always admitted this:

Once Trump wins 6 weeks from now...it's a crap shoot.   I'll take that "crap shoot" any day of the week, rather than having an Obama 3rd term on steroids....rather than 50 years of an activist Supreme Court hellbent on disarming the American People and cementing a Socialist agenda.

Even if Donald Trump turns out to be simply a band-aid...a finger in the dyke holding back an extinction-level event, in terms of the Bill of Rights, etc., it would be a victory to be cherished.

Figures.  I never liked him.  I will vote for Castle, though.

I think its kinda funny. They believed their own rhetoric about NeverTrump being all about Cruz and are now going to find that it makes virtually no difference. While I supported Cruz in the primary I plan on voting for Castle or McMullin.

All they've really done is absolve Ted Cruz of blame for Trump's impending loss.

last I looked Trump is still only pulling 81% of GOP base versus the historical low of 90%.  I wouldn't call us 9% ultra conservatives irrelevant.  See you in November.

I think you've nailed it there.

Their "claim" to believe in certain principles was obviously not the truth.  Otherwise, they wouldn't have shed them so quickly for a charlatan who doesn't believe a thing they said they believed.

So, it's guilt one way or the other.

Flaw?  Hardly.  We stubborn people are the reason for pretty much anything new.  The world isn't advanced by reasonable people.

I guess the Trumptroll has issues with the "stubbornness" of our Founders.

I mean their "character flaws" must have been enormous!  **nononono*

We don't give a rat's ass who 'stands with' the megalomaniac lifelong NYC Liberal Democrat running on the GOP ticket for president.

We're not.

I suppose principled might sound shrill to someone who wholeheartedly accepts whatever new zig-zag his Dear Leader comes up with.  But no, those of us who have made up our own minds don't sway with the wind or follow the prevailing current just because it's easier.  We actually mean what we say.  And we don't have to convince ourselves that what we believe stays constant from day to day unlike those who swallow whatever the Dear Leader tells them, regardless of how contradictory it is to what he told them yesterday.

@Longmire

Why do you even care, though?  Isn't Trump getting a record amount of the black vote, and a record amount of the Hispanic vote, and a lot of millennials and Democrats and women and everything else?

So our votes shouldn't matter, right?

They and their prince told us that from the very beginning when we refused to genuflect his candidacy.

But we have seen that they do not believe that at all, considering they spent the better part of a year now, hounding, insulting, stalking, threatening and cajoling everyone they could find who dared to state they were not supporting Trump for being traitors and *irrelevant* all at the same time.
