I wanted to filter out all the garbage when I looked at message titles,  but all the crap Sinkspur throws out still shows up as a thread title.

On another post, myst says the cost of a room is $395 in his new hotel.  I read it was $500. Maybe the $395 is in the basement and a room above ground is $500.  Or, maybe the $500 room has a regular bed and the $395, has a fold-out sofa bed, or a Futon with the mattress on the floor, or it's a piece of foam in the corner of the parking garage.  We will stay at home where we have a comfortable California King bed.  It's so long, Prissy, the Yorkie, has her own little bed at the foot of the bed.  We have two extra bedrooms, all with regular beds and we don't charge our friends to stay here - now, I'm re-thinking that in case Trump is president, we may need extra money to stay alive in HIS country.

His objective was to promote to the entire nation, the opening of his new hotel in Washington, D.C.  The rest was window dressing.  I read somewhere that a room at the new hotel is $500 A NIGHT.  (I wonder if my Yorkie, Prissy, gets in free.  We could say she is a seeing eye dog.)  Anyway, we will be rushing to Washington, to give Trump the $500 for a  night in this grand, great, really great, hotel - not.

It just sounds like a typical Trump con to me and I don't believe the media was fooled. I think the only ones being conned are the voters.

Jeb Bush would've been a much better candidate in a situation like this. Smiling broadly...at his donors. Republicans made a mistake not nominating him, or  Lindsay Graham. I mean, who here wouldn't love to have seen a Bush - Clinton rematch? Or a Lindsay - Hillary matchup?

Here in Austin, whe ever there's a big event,[SXSW, ACL, F1, etc] a lot of the hotels jack up their prices way higher . $800-$1000 or more.

Not that uncommon. We paid over $400 at Winstar Casino on NY Eve. Thanks to that, I headed off to a bar to have a couple of beers instead of dropping a few hundred at blackjack.

I recognized a few of the people in the bar, they were members of Frankie Valli's band. I raised my beer and said "Prosit Neu Jahr", or Happy New Year in German. Next think I know, one of the members starts rapping at me in German. For the next hour and a half, we swapped stories about our experiences while living in Germany. Heck of a way to ring in the New Year.
