Not Good: Trump Considering Billionaire Social Justice Warrior for Supreme Court

Spreading fast on social media this Thursday morning is a story originally posted at the Huffington Post, which reports that Donald Trump is considering PayPal founder, gay marriage supporter, and culture war snob Peter Thiel for the Supreme Court. If appointed, Thiel would be the first openly gay Supreme Court Justice, a landmark I personally think Trump would find irresistible......

How anybody could trust a damned thing Trump says at this point is beyond me.

Why does everyone assume this is a made up story?  This sounds exactly like something Trump would do.

This guy has everything.  He's wealthy.  Trump likes wealthy people.
He's gay which would show Trump's tolerance and forward looking stance.
He has absolutely no experience or credentials for being on the court ... just like Trump has no experience or credentials to be president.

What's not to like?

I agree it is made up.  I looked up this guy and he is a lawyer but never been a judge.  He would never get confirmed by the senate.

I have no idea if he has talked to this guy or not, but the whole Supreme Court nomination thing just opened wide up.

Think about it.

Trump sends out a proposal that is outside of the purview of the federal government, this paid maternity leave deal.

Why would he now nominate judges that maybe a constitutionalist, and reign in these kinds of outside-the-constitution overreaches?

Whether this guy is one of his picks or not, Trump has shown us his hand.

Peter Thiel Is Not Under Consideration For Trump's Supreme Court Says Spokesperson

A spokesperson for Peter Thiel denied that the billionaire tech investor is being considered for the Supreme Court following a widely-cited report.

On Thursday morning, The Huffington Post ran a story attributed to two anonymous sources that said Thiel had told friends that Donald Trump would nominate him to the country’s highest court if the Republican candidate won the presidency. “It’s not clear whether Trump has indeed offered to nominate Thiel–only that Thiel has said Trump would nominate him and that Trump’s team has discussed Thiel as a possible nominee,” the story said.

“Huffington Post’s sources are lying,” said Thiel’s spokesperson Jeremiah Hall. “The truth is Peter hasn’t had any conversation about a Supreme Court nomination and has no interest in the job.”
