I have no doubt there is some cross over appeal for the Tea Party crowd and Trump supporters...especially those who distrust the 2 party establishment. However I believe the Tea Party evolved from 2 main issues Taxed Enough Already and opposition to Obamacare. I don't see Trump courting those voters much. I believe Trump has talked, out of both sides of his mouth, both about raising taxes and replacing Obamacare with Trumpcare. I saw the Tea Party at it's roots as a conservative movement. IMO Trumpism is a populist America First movement. You feel comfortable in both groups, but I would not assume that all, or even most, conservatives and Tea Party heroes like Marco Rubio and Pat Toomey (neither has endorsed Trump) agree.
We will know soon enough my friend and I will be ready to come back for several pieces of humble pie as long as it is served by you with a YUGE grin.
I would add a 3rd tenet to the original TEA party movement, along with taxed enough already and Obamacare.
That would be the stimulus and bail-outs. Fed money going out to decide which businesses survive or fail.
None of these three things, with the exception of some tax code tinkering, seems to be high on the Trump agenda.
We've heard there would be health care reform, but how much?
He has already said he would sign off on a larger stimulus package than Hillary has.
