I used to love FR and considered it my "home base" go-to forum for information ....and if/when I was depressed or down about something, I could always count on the witty and funny natural comedians there to lift my spirits and make me laugh. When they were on a roll it was hilarious....quip after quip, page after page. Had me rolling on the floor. Now, all of that is gone.....
like it never happened.
Leaving me wondering how many other good things in America will be gone....like it never happened.
Forums change. New people with crackpot ideas and attitudes show up; the mods embrace or tolerate them; and then others leave. More of the new goofball squad show up and more long-time posters disappear.
Next you know you hardly recognize the place.
I've ridden about four forums down under the waves. It's the way this goes. Back fifteen years ago, the Internet was a new thing and we were all having a fine time. But most of us with lives, moved on...screaming down a rain-barrel gets tiresome. Others found Faceplant to be more to their liking.
What's left, in large numbers, are the tub-thumpers. The ones with an agenda and a lot of sophistry to spin their fact-free narratives, to push their agendas.
