Clinton 'In Hiding,' Stays Off Campaign Trail to Hobnob, Raise Money

The presidential campaign trail of late has been a case study in divergent campaign strategies — while Donald Trump is stumping in key battleground states, Hillary Clinton is out of sight fundraising.
Trump has been charging through North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and Mississippi in what campaign and GOP insiders hope will bridge gaps in recent polls. Meanwhile, Clinton has taken a break to hobnob with the wealthy and the famous from Martha's Vineyard to Hollywood, according to Fox News.
And for good reason, says the Trump campaign.
"Hillary Clinton is in hiding because she doesn't want to face voters or even the press," Trump campaign spokesman Jason Miller told Fox News. "With a track record like that, you'd be in hiding too."
Whatever her intention, pundits see it as a good move on Clinton's part, especially with leads in polls that allow her to mitigate her exposure.
"Warm, approachable — Clinton doesn't have those qualities … What she does have is message discipline, a dedicated staff and a disciplined campaign," Republican strategist David Payne told Fox. "So why should she do rallies or town halls?"
