Since I'm not seeing any music threads particularly focused on blues music.

And I'm including George Thorogood because I just don't know where else to put him.

George Thorogood was once on Leno. He sat down next to Jay and said his guitar didn't make the trip, the airline misplaced it. Jay said we can get you one to play. It was just a regular guitar. He made it sound like he was playing his Doughboy guitar. It was a think of beauty to watch.

Unknown Hinson is bizarre to say the least but one hell of a guitar player. He has the vampire Johnny Cash thing going on and was the voice of Early in Adult Swim's "Squidbillies".

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. Too often Blues doesn't get the respect it deserves in the greater musical community. But make no mistake, the legitimacy and authenticity of American popular music comes from Blues, because it is truth, and the truth will set you free.

@corbe
I actually have written music criticism in the past, professionally. I'm also a blues guitarist myself. And I would have killed to be able to play my
blues even once with a lineup of Miles Davis (trumpet), Stanley Turrentine (tenor saxophone), Jimmy Smith (Hammond organ), James Jamerson (bass),
and Art Blakey (drums). Or, with Muddy Waters's working group of the mid-to-late 1970s:

Muddy Waters, "Little Girl"
