French PM “open” to ban on foreign funding of mosques in France

“France needs to ‘invent a new relationship with Islam’ and Imams should be trained locally, ‘not elsewhere,’ Valls added in an interview with Le Monde.” Valls is in for a rude awakening: end the foreign funding of mosques and train the imams locally, and they will still be reading the same Qur’an and studying the same life of Muhammad. This is just another wrong diagnosis of the problem: the problem is not foreign funding or foreign-trained imams. The problem is how jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to incite Muslims to acts of hatred and violence. Until that is addressed, it will continue.
