Exactly.  In the Cruz vs Dewhurst Senate race, he pushed heavily for Dewhurst because he wanted Dewhurst's Lt. Governor position.  Now I'm thinking that the only reason he endorsed Cruz for President is because he wanted his US Senate seat.  He easily flopped over to supporting Trump and I believe he could be easily persuaded to challenge Cruz in 2018.

I have never trusted his judgment since he voted for Perot in 1996.

He also had a goofy notion, when he was a local sports radio broadcaster, that if he could get everyone to send him a dollar, he would buy the Astros.
My guess is he would have been lucky if he actually had 250,000 listeners, hardly the $1 a piece audience needed to but a sports franchise!
