Anti-Trump Factions Disrupt Vote at Republican Convention - Miss Roll-Call By One Vote

Representative Steve Womack, an Arkansas Republican who was chairing the proceedings, said that nine states had originally requested a roll-call vote, but that three later withdrew. Seven would be necessary to force the roll-call vote.

"The chair has found insufficient support for the request for a record vote," Womack said, ruling out the possibility of a roll call.

For those of you who don't know what just happened...allow me to explain.

RNC just denied a roll call vote on the rules that were voted on in the rules committee. A 7 state majority delegation petition was required for the vote. ‪#‎NeverTrump‬ has an 11 state majority petition. It was submitted. The RNC rules chair ignored the report, called for an up or down floor vote & immediately declared the rules would be adopted & then the ENTIRE CHAIR LEFT THE STAGE as the OPPOSITION SCREAMED & DEMANDED a roll call vote. They killed the microphones of the opposition & wouldn't allow them to speak. After 5 minutes of chants & screams from the #NeverTrump opposition, they returned to the podium & called for a second vote where it was clear the nay vote was more overwhelming. They then declared the petitions invalid because "3 states withdrew"....FOLKS THAT IS ABSOLUTE BS!!!!!! Mike Lee explicitly said there was an 11 state delegate majority to allow for the roll call.

The rule would've taken the power out of the hands of the RNC & give it back to the grassroots. We the people were denied the power.

Iowa is already saying they didn't withdraw their petition. The others they had (difference between 9 & 11) were Guam and the Virgin Islands. They withheld the vote to include their delegates as full voting members (usually done first) until after the Rules vote.

You do realize the Rules vote wasn't just about the Free the Delegates amendments. The rules changes gave the party establishment unprecedented power to change the rules at will without going to delegates and also blocked out many grassroots groups.
