Hillary Clinton Gambles in Choosing Small Events Over Huge Rallies LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- As she continues to battle two candidates fueled by monster crowds and widespread enthusiasm, Hillary Clinton has committed to a campaign strategy that prioritizes the exact opposite.
While Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump consistently whip seas of fans into frenzies, Clinton often favors modest public appearances that rely heavily on policy and can seem almost intentionally boring.
Over the last year, in at least a dozen states, Clinton has dedicated hours and hours to events so small that members of the media often match or outnumber the attendees.

If she could draw thousands of wildly cheering supporters, you bet she’d be out there loving every minute of it.
The article says that she drew 5,000 at the rally where she announced she was running, and has only reached that number one other time. Most of her rallies are small, pathetic affairs. In California, the day Trump had about 20,000 people, she was eating waffles with 70 people.
