I finally figured out what my problem is with this whole thread: And its original premise.
"LET'S SEE...WHAT ARE MY CHOICES?"
Well, I'd certainly suggest that at this late date it's wrong for people who've been involved in this process to even ask that question. Here's why:
First off, it suggests that, "Oh, my! I have to pick between one of two choices. What am I to do?" Fakery and fatuous and a specious question, at the very BEST!
For crying out loud, this is what Trump supporters have been doing all they can do to accomplish. For many moons, there were NUMEROUS candidates that offered more conservative credentials, that offered (depending on the particular issue) the same or a better option than Trump has offered. But Trump supporters went for the glittery, shiny object. They swallowed the pill whole, without question...and then went whole hog attack-dog on any one that differed with them.
ALL the other candidates were smeared and besmirched by Trump...and his supporters cheered like something out of a Monty Python movie. The craziest, most insane, most fringe accusations/allegations/statements were made and Trump supporters treated them as if they were undisputable, honest-to-God facts and should be universally accepted.
One by one, candidates dropped out. Finally, Cruz suspended his campaign.
And now, NOW...someone wants to ask what his choices are?!
Your choices were spread before you like a buffet. Your choices were numerous and viable.
But, early on...you did it. You made your choice.
Nothing else even gets on your radar screen. You've decided and you've circled the wagons. No dissent is allowed. No criticism is countenanced.
You were warned/told that Trump was going to have a helluva time winning this thing; that hitching your wagon to the Trump campaign was going to lead to disaster.
Of course, you derided that. Oh, that was FUNNY! That was the stuff of idiots, of those unaware, of [gasp!] people who wanted Hillary elected!
The vitriol; the level of bile; the lack of any sort of adult, mature discussion or debate about concerns was epic. We talk about the "vetting" of candidates. When we talk about that re Trump, we are yelled down with a cacophany of voices that say, "NO CANDIDATE IN OUR HISTORY HAS BEEN VETTED MORE THAN TRUMP!" or "He's been in the public eye for years...everyone already knows Trump!"
You know, I think that is just about the most brainless thing. Personally, I never paid a bit of attention to Trump. At the absolute most, he was on the periphery of anything I knew or paid any attention to. I sure wasn't watching him with the view that he may be sitting in the seat of power and having control over my life!
Anyway, now that everyone else is gone the question is posed: What are my choices?
You should have asked that earlier, goofus. Back when you had more choices. Back when you could have made a difference.
But you know what?...[and this is you all over again]...You're not asking because you want any help.
You're putting that question out as if you're a thoughtful, well-meaning, "open-to-input" kind of person. Anyone here already knows you. Integrity, thoughtfulness, etc. are kind of antonyms to the way you treat this issue.
There have been LOTS of answers to that question on this thread. I'm not a mind-reader, but I'll bet none of them that didn't agree with you broke through your awareness to the point that you'd concede you might...MIGHT...be making a mistake.
So again, I submit that your question was asked too late and that you're not interested in the answer to it anyway. It was just another way for you to market "your guy".
I don't post a lot. But sometimes you knuckleheads get me to the point I have to write SOMETHING!
Maybe no one else agrees, but dammit...I'm tired of you.
