DALLAS — An evacuation is underway at Thanksgiving Tower in downtown Dallas.The roads around the building have been closed off and a large police presence is at the scene.While there have been multiple reports on social media of a bomb threat, neither Dallas police nor Dallas Fire-Rescue have confirmed the reason behind the evacuation. Brenda Morrow, who works at the Gardere law firm that occupies floors 24 through 30, said an announcement over the loud speaker instructed everyone there was an emergency and that they were to evacuate the 50-story building.Police have blocked off Elm Street at South Ervay and North Akard streets.
DALLAS — A threat made during a business conference call spurred an evacuation of the Thanksgiving Tower early Wednesday evening in downtown Dallas, according to a Dallas police source at the scene.The source told News 8 the business, based out of St. Louis, called their Dallas office at Thanksgiving Tower to report that a person threatened to blow up the building. The source didn't identify the name of the business.The roads around the building were closed off and police surrounded the building as they investigated the threat.
