It's pretty much over.  Nobody's ever recovered from a 70% unfavorable rating.

And Trump continues to embarrass himself.

That is not only untrue, but impossible. He may embarrass his supporters and his family, but he will never embarrass himself.

I remain convinced he will just step down before he allows that to happen so he can keep bragging about being a winner.

Trump's very 1st act should be the have each and every reception depot for illegal immigrants be surrounded by appropriate military/National Guard, etc..

They current employees are to be detained and disarmed, debriefed, for how ever long it takes.

Now son...that's just common sense.

So President Trump's "very 1st act" should be to use the military to arrest hundreds of American citizens (Posse Comitatus anyone?), disarm them and hold them for interrogation for an indefinite period of time.

And you all wonder why we call him a Fascist.

Wait... Trump didn't say that.

You did.

P.S. That "very 1st thing" you suggest Trump should do is the very reason for the Second Amendment.

With all due respect, that's just about the dumbest thing I've ever read.

First, Trump is not going to be president.

But if he did something like this, I'm pretty sure the whole immigration apparatus would back those who were doing what they were told.

This is cruel, dumb-assery squared.

There are upwards of 95 million Americans willing to work.

Anybody that moved one illegal in a systematic program to deceive the public shall be stripped of all their clearances immediately.  Disarmed.  Disrobed....uniforms taken...and given a pair of Kirkland's jeans and a tee-shirt.

Unless they were supervisors.   Those we want to waterboard.

Quite honestly, think of it more like an executive on the 14th floor being let go and security waiting for him in the conference room.

They're escorting you out of the building     system.

I added the link to Rush's own site with his own words.

RUSH: My preference is that Trump win Florida and Ohio.

Rush wasn't saying that his preference was for Trump to win the nomination though.  Which is what you made it sound like he said.  Didn't happen.

@geronl @XenaLee

...because, at that point Rush wanted Kasich out to make it a two man race...that would favor Cruz.

Yeah, Rush has never acted like he wanted Trump to beat Cruz, much less like he would endorse Trump over Cruz.  That claim is patently false.  And I've had enough of 'false claims' about conservative icons.  Had a belly-full at TOS re: them trashing Levin.

Thanks for that clarification, btw.

I am guessing most of the "from my cold, dead hands" people will meekly line up to turn in their guns.

It will be more than 90%

Let me tell you the truth about that.  You make decisions like that well in advance of the event, e.g. "Fortune favors the prepared mind."
One does not commit to a "life and death" action like that, without working out the principle and logic in advance.  You have to determine your own ROE (rules of engagement).

I was an "outlaw" in California before I moved last year, because I was in violation of California's unconstitutional gun laws.  So, becoming a "Federal outlaw" over new, anti-Constitutional weapons laws won't really bother me.  Irritate me, yes, frighten me, no.   I'll won't surrender my arms, and I'll fight back if need be.

I won't be murdered like Finicum, without returning fire.

I think that there are a heck of a lot more of us "radical right wingers" (e.g. Constitutional oath keepers) than you and the rest of the country realizes.

How many "dust up's" like Oregon can a President survive, before the nation rebels?  How many dead martyrs, sons, husbands, daughters, and wives can be murdered by Federal authorities without receiving an equal reaction?

Far fewer than the Obama leftists and GOP progressives believe.

Now son...that's just common sense.

Why?

Son, most INS ICE and border patrol are patriots, hamstrung by the criminally unlawful orders issued by Obama, but not contested by the GOP-e Congress.

If a new President gives the order, the great round up will commence immediately.   Then, he writes the executive order against the so-called Sanctuary cities, and the local officials and their police chiefs violating Federal law get "collected", too.

That's just common sense.

DAYUM! You need to start looking for a 24 step rehab program (twice as many steps as the normal programs, plus 1 for good luck) now to beat the rush, because you are going to need it more than anyone else I have ever seen. There is no doubt at all in my mind that you are borderline insane. The only question is "Which side of the border are you looking over from?"

Limbaugh spent the better part of eight months hyping Trump.   Make no mistake, Rush hosted a daily three hour trumpathon.  He was nasty towards McCain and Romney in 2008 and 2012.  But when it came to Trump, he simply marveled at how others "still don't get it."

We got it perfectly well.  Prior to announcing, Donald buttered him up on the golf course and elsewhere, just like he lobbied the other media personalities.  Thenceforth, Rush felt obligated to shield Donald from serious critique.  In so doing he shredded his credibility as an advocate for conservatism.  He needs to retire.
I think Rush is a closer friend to The Donald than he has let on. He's admitted to being a golfing buddy. There might be more.
And I was listening to Hannity the other day admit he's known members of the Trump family for a long time as well. It's very interesting (as another poster has mentioned) that Trump's strongest support comes from the New York area. They must see him as one of them. At least more so than people from other parts of the country. But all the big name Republican pols  and conservatives from the NYC area jumped on the Trump Train almost immediately.

And the teachers who violated federal law and taught illegal alien students, and the principals and school officials who allowed it to happen, and the nurses and doctors that illegally treated them in hospitals, clinics and private practices, and the individuals who rented them homes, and the people in the welfare system that gave them benefits, and everyone at the DMV...

Shit son, the Federal government will be so busy rounding up American citizens that it won't have the time or man power to actually deal with the illegals.

That's just common sense.

He is cementing in the minds of non-Trumpers:  "I am one crazy sonofabitch."
He is Ross Perot with more charisma....the charisma of a demagogue. Perot had zero personality and just as crazy ideas.
Trump gives his audiences red meat and a show. He's certainly suckered many people I thought had more intelligence.

I don't think most of them are "to the bone devout" followers of the Trump Cult. I suspect most of them are just people who are desperate to find a political leader to believe in. We damn sure havn't had one since Reagan left office, and that was a LOOOOONG time ago.

Right now they are just happy to have a politician tell them what they want to hears. They will worry about believing him later.

Actually, @sneakypete I believe Trump.  He has been saying what he's saying now for the past 30 years.  (The wall is new  ^-^)

Here's a video of his interviews through the years .... it's pretty long, but you can fast forward if you like.  The point is:  Trump's opinions have been very consistent.

That's just not true, Sink.  Watch the video.  Trump has been in the "thick of things" for decades---sounding a clarion call to action --- even before Congress.

He's NOT ignorant.  Trump is the one candidate, one of a tiny few on either side of the government aisle who knows and understands what's going on globally, how it is affecting us and how to reverse course.

Disagree with Trump, if you must, @sinkspur, but not because he is "ignorant".  That's just disingenuous.  Why not have the integrity to simply admit you believe the status quo is good enough for this nation and her people?
