That is a very important question....

My opinion, for a very long time, is that he is merely a stalking horse for his good buddy, Hillary.

I do think he's inept..... his multiple business failures as proof....... and I think he's clueless about campaigning, proven by the dire financial condition of his campaign, but I truly believe he is trying to lose so that Hillary can be President.

He's stated that she would be a wonderful President in the past, and the way he's still going after Republicans and only going after Hillary minimally, seems to be proof that he is actually trying to lose.

@musiclady, I just can't get past his enormous ego () to believe that he would allow himself to be a "loser" in order to do something for someone else.  I just don't see it.

Thanks.   And....just ran across yet another pertinent article on Trump's ""success"" record ....this time re: how he is mishandling his campaign.  What a disaster.  My only question is....is it truly ineptness....

or is it intentional?

There have been a few of us in here who have stated from quite early on that Trump is merely a siphon for the DEMS and his objective is to hand Hillary the White House.  The fix has been in from the get go.  Even with eyes half-open you would be hard pressed to dispute this now.

We had Cruz, Kasich, Fiorina, Rubio, Paul, Huckabee, Walker and Perry who I believe would have won against Hillary.  Instead millions believed the 'outsider' rhetoric from Trump; a known liberal and a fraud.  Believe me.  His goal was not to make America great again.

Unless he, in his own distorted, egotistical mind, is thinking that this was his plan and that he succeeded in doing what he intended to do.

Maybe it's cynical, but if, since he's a Democrat who supported Obama and raved about Hillary, his intention was to wipe out a tremendous field of Republicans from whom we could have chosen a capable conservative nominee, and to help Hillary win, then he could see this as "winning."

Not claiming to know that, but understanding his warped psyche, it's not out of the realm of possibility, IMO.....

Hey...Hey...Hey...... :nono:

You wanna give me a nickel for every time you or your Trump friends called ME "sanctimonious"......not because of my behavior, but because I called Trump on his serial adultery and rampant immorality?

I'd be richer than Trump, himself....   ^-^

Completely agree!

The first thing he did when entering the primaries was to establish an excuse for running third party, which I think he would gladly have done if he hadn't started winning and knocking out the genuine competition early on. I don't think he expected to take the nomination. Now that he's got it, he needs to do the next best thing, which is to lose to Hillary without making it look obvious.

Trump's run has the Clintons written all over it. They're a devious, conniving pair. Not only do they love the perks of power, they've needed to do something to keep themselves out of jail. And there's no better means to that end than the White House. If Trump loses, they succeed. If Trump wins they succeed, but just not in as nice a way as they'd hoped.
