If the party ever wants me back,  it will need to purge itself of all the trumpers.
Ditto for me.  But I think this might be the end of the Republican Party.  Or least the Pubbie Party dedicated to promoting conservative principles.
If the present Pubbie Party decides it wants to go down the populist path, then many ideological conservatives will seek a new party. Neither party will be able to win the presidency by itself.

Well Trump will destroy the uniparty!

Are you (sarcastically) denying the two major parties are not in collusion?

Or do you just believe Trump will be ineffective in doing so?

@jmyrlefuller   I honestly don't have a good response for LePage or Snyder, but I took them for just another Kasich.  I'm not sure I could stomach that.
I don't know enough about Snyder to say what his policies are, only that he found a way to win in union-heavy Michigan.

LePage, I know of a little better; in Maine (a pretty solidly liberal state) he has a record of reform all his own. He's kind of bombastic, and he supports Trump (gag!) but he has managed to get elected twice while staying true to his platform. If somehow Trump is disposed-of, LePage would be a guy to seriously consider.

No, they were successful.  The DACA bit was stopped.

And the Judge is stomping all over counsel for the Justice Dept.  Ordered them to take ethics training  as they withheld or mislead the Judge repeatedly.

All that available talent in the GOP field and primary voters select the absolutely worst possible candidate

That's what really frosts me. We had a number of excellent conservative candidates, and they all got tossed in the waste.  We end up with the least conservative, most ignorant candidate ever. And all the big names in conservative talk radio who ranted for decades about electing principled, moral conservatives tossed their integrity overboard to back this skunk.

The media can be blamed for much of that. The other candidates were given an asterisk at best,......because they weren't "outrageous enough" to make a show, which is always what the media wants.  Trump was an easy mark for the media ratings. They didn't have to create a story as in past elections, they simply went with whatever Trump dished out on a daily......"Emotions" have it every day.

On the other hand...the public liked that he was saying everything they couldn't.....he gave them a voice and they've loved it and love it still. .....and they do believe him.  It doesn't matter if he's wrong or won't be able to deliver what they want.....it's been enough he called out the politicians, the media, this administration and any other that flowed fro Trumps mouth and they celebrated with him.

Nobody's going to break the connection between his supporters and Trump........and I can't see any other that would run could possibly compare with the "style" his supporters do love.  So I have serious reservations anything at Conference is going to change the equation. ......

I thought some made it clear that they weren't big Trump supporters. Rush comes to mind right off the bat. He didn't bash Trump but he did say on many occasions that Cruz was the best conservative we had since Reagan.

I am just as mad as you about Trump being the nominee. We are now in a situation where we have to just watch him go down in flames. If the GOP replaces him at the convention the Trump supporters will never support an adult conservative again. In 4 years we will need them to see what happens when you nominate an immature blowhard and to get behind a serious conservative.
To listen to Rush the last two or three months has been like listening to a YUGE!!! Trumpster.  Nary one negative word about Trump and many bad words directed at Trump's opponents. You can't tell me Limbaugh hasn't been giving tacit support to Trump without once declaring all out support for him. His own words betrayed him.

Rusty has been a Trump pimp the entire election. I think it will help his ratings when Trump loses in November.

Rush has always thrown his support behind whoever the nominee is. He supported McCain & Romney. I wish he broke the pattern in the primaries, but I can't dump on him for being consistent.

This just in:
NRA's Chris Cox: "There is not a difference" between Trump, NRA positions on terror watch list access to guns.

Trump: “Now, but what they say, and I understand that also, is the Second Amendment, they’re depriving them of those rights. And that it could be that people are on there that shouldn’t be on, you know, etc. etc.,” Trump said.  http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/donald-trump-inclination-terrorism-shouldnt-buy-guns/story?id=39961668  (Nice way to draw subtle attention to secret government lists - for free)

Addendum from Barry Obummer to the whiners on here: (You know who you are)
Thank you very much for the cover you are giving us in deliberately distracting the media away from islamic terrorists, toward our phony gun control utopia, and away from the total failure in general of my terrorism policies.  Your aid is priceless if Hillary is to continue on my path.  We will be grateful until the next time we need you.

I knew real estate developers in Florida in the 70's and 80's who sold all kinds of things that did not exist, that never would exist, or never exist in the form in which they were marketed.  I was amazed then at how eager people were to swallow that flim flam and how few of them were willing to admit that they had been cheated.  Trump is no different.  He's absolutely selling what people want to hear without even the remotest intention or ability to deliver what he has sold.  Trump is what you want him to be until the day he has to close the deal and then he will vanish like dew when the sun comes up.

I mean no offense @ConstituionRose, but you are wrong.   Flat out wrong (or perhaps uninformed).

Donald Trump has been sounding a clarion call for decades--even testifying before Congress.  His convictions have not changed.  Voters are simply ready to hear the truth .... as they were finally ready in 1980.

Trump has thought long and hard about running for POTUS.  He is serious, committed and in it not only to win it, but to fix what's ailing us.

#NeverTrumps have frequently asked me "why" I support Trump.  This is the easiest way to explain why Donald Trump is the right man at the right time.  I hope you're "brave" enough to take a look:

Donald Trump favors taking private property from its rightful owners and giving it to people like him - private developers - because he thinks he can use that property better than the actual owner can.  That is what liberals do.

Donald Trump favors single payer nationalized health care.  That is what liberals do.

Donald Trump favors raising the minimum wage.  That is what liberals do.

Donald Trump favors starting trade wars with China and Mexico.  That is what liberals do.

Donald Trump ....

The only reality behind Donald Trump is that he's a NYC crony capitalist liberal.  Just like Michael Bloomberg.

As, my mistake.  The idiot fraud of Queens.

The dolt THINKS he has a high IQ, because daddy bought him a spot at Penn, after two years at Fordham.  Still couldn't get into Harvard, Yale, or Princeton,  but Penn's not bad for the idiot child of an extremely wealthy man.

Question.  If Trump is so brilliant....then why all the failed businesses and four bankruptcies?

It's definitely not 'that', @XenaLee

It's just that BS argument/point has been explained/refuted dozens of times.
