Again, you cannot ban a religion...and you cannot simply declare a religion to not be what it has always been in cultural and legal history.
We did with marriage and now gender. Why not religion?

Because it would be wrong?

Of course, but I'm being facetious here. They get away with it with those, but not this? At least be consistent.

The Founders would never have imagined islam would come to America's shores since they were fighting the Barbary pirates in Tripoli. I do not believe they would have given this totalitarian political movement status as a protected religion since our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values which are diametrically opposed to the tenets of islam. There was not a mosque in this country until 1929.

Have you ever seen any of them admit to being wrong about ANYTHING related to Trump? They don't have it in them...they must paint him as aggregation of Hitler, the Anti-Christ and Saul Alinsky...in other words, they've passed over to irrational hatred, and all they are now capable of is emoting about their anger/hate of the man.

Just further evidence they, too, are the enemy going forward to November 8th.

Trump IS a Democrat.  That's part of why he acts the way he does.....

Our hero, Reagan, was another 'Democrat', who killed Ghadafi's son with a missile down the chimney in an attempt to get the Libyan ruler.

Have we actually BEEN verifiably wrong yet about the man himself?

I know there are some attacks on Trump from the left that are pure silliness. Most of us on this side of the fence know that, and acknowledge it.

Now, some of us have been wrong on forward-looking statements—particularly primary election results. But we don't need to "admit being wrong" about that because the answers are in public record, and that doesn't say as much about him as the (expletives) that vote for him despite knowing him. On matters of substance, we've been right far more often than being wrong.

Trump wasn't right on anything because none of his precious "policies" would have stopped a homegrown terrorist who was born in New York.  Not a wall and not stopping all immigration.  Keeping in mind as well that Trump has already promised Ryan that blocking immigration is not on his agenda.  Trump gave up quite a lot to appease Ryan and get his endorsement.  The only things Trump has left are chutzpah, ego, and mindless zombie-like followers.
Those mindless zombie-like followers can go a long way.

Donald Trump says the United States should kill the family members of terrorists, and not to do so is just being "politically correct."

"The other thing with the terrorists is you have to take out their families, when you get these terrorists, you have to take out their families," Trump said on Fox and Friends on Dec. 2, 2015. "They care about their lives, don't kid yourself. When they say they don't care about their lives, you have to take out their families."

End of Trump moral argument.  Nothing Constitutional about Donald Trump policy.

So what? You don't like that Islam is one of the world's three largest religions, but it is. And we don't have religious tests.  To equate radical Muslim beliefs with the practice of most Muslims in the world (nearly a billion of them) is ridiculous

So, there are a lot things that our founders didn't consider like the Internet. I'm not a fan of Islam, however they are protected by the First Amendment.. Until it changes, I think a call to ban Islam is moronic.. The Constitution is a suicide pact.

Mr. Trumps TEMPORARY halt on immigration from ISIS and jihadi laden islamic regions is looking more and more rational...
?
Rational or not, that's not what Trump is advocating.  A complete and total ban on Muslims from entering the country for an undetermined period of time.  Why are you watering it down into something Trump hasn't said?

we must figure out a genuine screening process before we let these people flood in...if 1 in a 1000 are ISIS, that's a disaster. Right now, as he asserts, we have no clue who is actually coming into the nation. He's also right that we must not just lightly bomb occasional ISIS targets, we must destroy them utterly on the battlefield in over social media.

The killer was born in the U.S.  How do you screen against that?

If we start banning religions that we don't like, what makes you think the left will ban certain religions or churches that they don't like.

He was speaking about terrorists on foreign soil, not domestic. If you want to attack the man, at least do it honestly.

There's a huge gulf between civil legal limitations on aspects of Sharia law...such as banking...and banning a religious practice. Heck, I would not oppose a ban on Sharia law altogether as part of civil law...but you are calling for banning mosques and religious practice, evidently, and that can never happen in this country. If it does, it will be the end of Christianity AND of civil government. So don't conflate things like disallowing Sharia banking practices, and the banning of a religion generally...these are two utterly different things.

Again, you cannot ban a religion...and you cannot simply declare a religion to not be what it has always been in cultural and legal history. Let it go, because it will only make our fight against RADICAL Islam all the more difficult to win.

No, he didn't make that distinction.  And I am not calling for a ban on the Muslim religion.  A law to protect us from the governing law of Islam.  It is desperately needed.  If you look at France, Germany and Sweden.  Among other European countries who are struggling with being overcome by Islam's governing law.  In which they believe that they have the freedom to condemn others who don't follow Islam.  They believe they have the right to pass judgment and that is why we are seeing these killlings.  That is why there are mass rape and killings related to Islam in Europe.  We have to address this situation and protect our citizens from the creep of Islamic law.  Otherwise they bring it with them from other countries and believe that they have the moral authority to pass judgment concerning anything from a woman's dress code to the freedom to discuss what a person believes about Mohammad or Islam without the threat of death.

There was a time when Ronald Reagan was president and the Soviets had shot down a Korean airplane to the round condemnation of the world. His advisers all quarreled about what sort of statement they should put out, but Reagan silenced them all by saying that they didn't have to say anything at all: the atrocity spoke for itself. The smart thing to do here would have been to grieve with America, not crow about how right you were (when he wasn't specifically "right" about anything).

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump  1h1 hour ago

What has happened in Orlando is just the beginning. Our leadership is weak and ineffective. I called it and asked for the ban. Must be tough.

Trump's Muslim ban would force all US visitors to declare and prove their religion.

And furthermore, even in a foreign country under war conditions I do not believe that we purposely kill the families of terrorists.  Do civilians sometimes get killed, yes.  Not always avoidable.  I could be wrong, but I don't believe Trumps position meets Geneva Convention Rules of Engagement.

According to Common Article 3, people who are taking no active part in the hostilities "shall in all circumstances be treated humanely… To this end, the following acts are and shall remain prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever … violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds, mutilation, cruel treatment and torture."

Experts said this language would make Trump’s approach a violation of the Geneva Conventions, assuming that the family members were not taking part in terrorist activities.
