(CNSNews.com) – House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) unveiled what he called the Republicans’ “policy agenda” for 2017 on Wednesday, including a plan to regain the legislative power granted to Congress in Article One of the U.S. Constitution.

“Article One,” Ryan said at a pen and pad briefing with reporters at the Capitol,  “this is something that our members are very animated about because this has gotten out of control.”

“This is about the separation of powers, about the Constitution, and wresting control away from decades of executive overreach and giving it back to Congress,” he said.

Ryan noted that President Barack Obama is not the only president to employ “executive overreach” to advance his agenda.

“But this president has taken it even further than anyone before,” Ryan said.

Article 1, Section 1 of the Constitution states, "All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives."

The House Speaker told reporters that the Republican conference will be releasing six “detailed policy papers” throughout the month of June, on issues ranging from “poverty and opportunity,” to repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act, and plans for economic growth and national security.

“To be clear, this agenda is not an exhaustive list of the things that we believe in as Republicans, and it doesn’t cover every issue of public concern,” he said. “But these are the big ideas that unite all Republicans and address the country’s priorities.”

Ryan further said that the agenda would move forward with a Republican in the White House.

Oh really?

After 7+ long years of 0bama spitting and stomping on the Constitution, NOW you want to do something?

Congress... :chairbang:
Throwing our allegiances to political parties in the long run gave away our liberty.

A cowardly bunch for sure, why not do it now I have no doubt he will continue EO's until he is gone, he will probably sign his last one at 11:59 PM 19 Jan 17 just to have the last laugh.  And why is it Ryan had to provide cover for obama saying other presidents did it too just not as bad; obama would say in his usual narcissistic voice he was not that bad it is only that the other presidents were not that good, they constantly feed the savage beast whatever he wants.
Facts, Reason, Logic and Common Sense when consistently applied ultimately leads to the proper conclusion!  It worked for our Founding Fathers.
